Question:
I'm testing windows 7 beta now.I need Antivirus software,so install and run AVAST 4.2 home version.
BUt when i download some file via the official Microsoft site,AVAST reports that the file contains a "COMPRESSION BOMB".I think the word BOMB is not good for me.
Also I try AVAST in the XP compatability mode.I think AVAST need to fix in Windows 7.
Answer:
A decompression bomb file unpacks to an enormous amount of data. It's a multi-level packing thing and very hard to detect such files reliably, so it's possible that it gives some false alarms ocassionally.
