pppoe error 651 in Windows 7

In Windows XP or Windows Vista computer, I try to connect to the internet by using the PPPoE connections, it work just fine. But the PPPoE Connection doesn't work in Windows 7, it get the following error:

Error 651: The Modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error.

I Find the Microsoft Virtual pc 2007 by searching tool on my computer. Then uninstalled MS Virtual PC 2007 and did a reboot… Then the problem solved!

Others try to rename the raspppoe.sys file in the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder to something like “raspppoe_orig.sys” copying a working file from a Windows Vista. But it didn’t work.

But I find that my computer's USB ports works fine. I installed windows 7 and they were working fine.
Then I uninstall the drivers for my devices and reinstall them. The USB doesn't work. I open the Device Manager Window and see all of the devices under USB Controllers there. Uninstall them and restart the computer. After reinstall the USB drivers, the problem is still.

How to fix USB device not recognized in Windows 7 system? It's simply to solve it. You just unplug your computer from the power supply.

install HP OfficeJet Scanner Software

I had detected all necessary drivers in Windows 7 7000 with my HP 5610 Officejet.It can be printed and scaned by Windows Fax and Scan.Also its drivers obviously work fine.
But then I can not install the Vista software from HP's disc.And I don't know how to save scans in .pdf format.How to fix this problem.Help me.

I think you should set comp mode for ALL installation files!
To install sotware from HP cd/dvd files with setup in name only on first folder and under options set them to windows vista compatability .

How to Run it in Compatibility Mode in Windows 7:
1.Right click on the program's shortcut and Click on Properties.
2.Then Click on the Compatibility tab to Run a Program in vista Compatibility Mode.
3.Click on OK to apply the changes.

uninstall Internet Explorer 7

IE 7.0 means vomit. There was a lot better visually that you get IE 6 back.
I tried removing IE7 because it was causing problems with SharePoint.

To remove Windows Internet Explorer 7 program,go to click the Start button --> Then go to your control panel --> Then click on Add or Remove Programs -->Look for iexplorer and Click on it to remove.
Waiting for a moment, Internet Explorer 7 was uninstalled.

When I uninstalled IE7, I didn't need to reinstall IE6 - After a restart, it was just there.

Download the newest steam installer and run it as an administrator,
If it continues then make sure your system is clean and also run the windows update.

Install DirectX Error

I installed the Direct X needed by a game.After download the Direct setup for VGA,I installed the applications.But it popped up an error :

"A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted.
Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid. "

What to do now?please help me.

Sun Open Office Issue

When I try to install Sun Open Office 3 in my computer running Windows 7 RC build 7100 64 bit,after restart the computer freezes.Anyone has the same problem?Do it work for you?

I have open office installed and running just fine on win 7 RC1 7100 32bit version. It works fine

I hear 32-bit only, as I could install but not run in 64-bit windows 7,the same build. So the problem is either me, or my ME mark VII box.

I'll tackle it later when I have another spare hard drive to test.

Ethernet Connection Drop issue

I am having trouble when it's actually ethernet cable...my card is realtec RTL8139\810x,i'm connected via university using telnet.the internet is falling every 5-20 minutes...
My connection drops on average about 15mins, with torrent, skype, and msn running. it's really annoying to have to troubleshoot every 15-20mins!!.. anyone found a solution to this??

What ethernet card you have, what router model, firmware and the rest of the obvious network information and anything else pertinent about this issue, the more detail the better

mod may want to merge this thread with about 2 others, just from today alone, and probably a few more could be found just from the past week. Am wondering if this is really a big issue or is it all user/system/network specific.

Blue Screens caused by Vista Calendar

The Vista Windows Calendar was copied to Windows 7 by me.Calendar worked great.But when I try to delete an entry, it causes a Blue Screen.what would cause this. It happened 6 times.
I prefer the Vista Calendar. I am also curious because this never happened in the three months that I ran the Beta, only with the RC.

Windows Vista Calendar application does not run under Windows 7.It's not support.You can use the new calendar function embedded in the Windows Live suite.
Also,you can use Windows desktop gadgets for Calendar or Google calendars.

print spooler service is not running

I have a similar issue.When I Spooled a document in windwos 7 with HpD4260.It tasked a long time without nothing printed.Has anyone seen the same behavior?

It is the "print spooler service is not running" Error.Now fix the error.
1.Click "start button"-->"Run",Type "services.msc" and click OK.
2.Find the "Printer Spooler service" in the windows, Double-click it.Then change its startup type to Automatic.
3.Delete contents of the C:\Windows\System32\spool\printers folder.
4.Restart your computer and install printer again.

Or you can open command prompt and type in windwos 7

Security Update cause blue screen(bsod)

I had install Kaspersky in Windows 7 beta.It works fine.But when i install the latest Windows Security Update,it is blue screen of death after reboot.The error codes mean that kl1.sys file is lost(a failure on kl1.sys).
The problem is most likely that Kaspersky Anti-Virus software components caused.
At present, there is a simple solution.It's to cannal the system to start with Kaspersky.
　　1. Reboot your computer and preess "F8" to Safe Mode menu.Selete Safe Mode with Network and login.
2.When you login successfully,click start -->"run"-->Type "msconfig" to open System Configuration.
3.Switch to "start" tab.And cancel Kaspersky hook in "start project".

jumping mouse cursor issue

when I want to type in windows 7, the mouse will jump on the screen.Then I press "enter",the mouse cursor is over another part of the sentence it will jump to the pointer.then I can start to type.It happen many times when I type.And what I should do now?I have noticed the issue on multiple laptops.

You should login in Safe Mode and reboot ?please let me know these laptops model.

I am facing the same problem about Jumping mouse with two computers, one of them is Lenovo X200 and the othe is Sony Vaio. I tried to cancel the touchpad but I couldn't find it on control panel or device manager. the only device I have is PS2 mouse.

Now i run windows vista fine and want to upgrade to windows 7 Operating system .So I has a question.If I upgrade to windows 7,Will need to reinstall all my software.

First,I think Windows 7 runs on the same kernel as vista,lots of softwore can be functional on windows 7.But the Hard drive maybe crash at random,so you'd bettle to have everything backup anyways.
Now I upgraded from vista with no complication.It means that you have to reinstall all software.
Don't worry about that.windows 7 will gets fully released.Wouldn't upgrade to the beta now.

AVAST COMPRESSION BOMB

Question:
I'm testing windows 7 beta now.I need Antivirus software,so install and run AVAST 4.2 home version.
BUt when i download some file via the official Microsoft site,AVAST reports that the file contains a "COMPRESSION BOMB".I think the word BOMB is not good for me.
Also I try AVAST in the XP compatability mode.I think AVAST need to fix in Windows 7.

Install Adobe Flash Player

Now i got the problem that I can't view the Youtube videos in IE.It seem adobe flash player could not been installed.I got the windwos 7 beta fine other than adobe flash.
when i try to download it via the adobe site,http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/,it happends no error, no install, no download in IE8.
Also i downloaded the "full_flashplayer_win.msi" file and install. But IE8 still say that i should install flash.what I can do?

It's no issue.You still have to install the flash ActiveX from Adobe in IE . You'd bettle to turn off the AntiVirus program.

Usb Flash Drives Issues

I'm working in Windows 7 beta.But it's still USB Issues that the majority of my USB devices are inaccessible.

In the device manager reports,the USB device are working.But the problem is that my usb flash drives can't be accessed.The usb flash drives can work on my friend's laptop running windows 7 rc.

Then I noticed, whenever it installs USB drive. My G15 Keyboard drivers takes forever around 15-25 minutes.So i think the keyboard maybe blocke all other portsand.

How to deal with it?I Fixed and turns out my G15 keyboard after installing its drivers
Now it works well and Windows allow all device to be accessed.

Firefox Crashes When Closing

I had installed windows 7 beta and am running Win7 now.But when closing Firefox,I have issues that Firefox Crashes.Then it asks me to send an error report.
I remember that I had done with the option to "Ask before clearing private information" in Firefox yet. What can I do that don't let Firefox Crash?

Maybe the profile of Firefox causes.You can create a new profile as a test.It can check if your current profile is causing the problems. If that works then you can transferring data to a new_profile in Firefox.
