I installed the Direct X needed by a game.After download the Direct setup for VGA,I installed the applications.But it popped up an error :
"A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted.
Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid. "
What to do now?please help me.
If you download and install the DirectX Redist package, it will install/update directx and solve any issues your having
Download DirectX Redist (March 2009)
I think It will work fine in windows 7.

Sun Open Office Issue
When I try to install Sun Open Office 3 in my computer running Windows 7 RC build 7100 64 bit,after restart the computer freezes.Anyone has the same problem?Do it work for you?
I have open office installed and running just fine on win 7 RC1 7100 32bit version. It works fine
I hear 32-bit only, as I could install but not run in 64-bit windows 7,the same build. So the problem is either me, or my ME mark VII box.
I'll tackle it later when I have another spare hard drive to test.

Ethernet Connection Drop issue
I am having trouble when it's actually ethernet cable...my card is realtec RTL8139\810x,i'm connected via university using telnet.the internet is falling every 5-20 minutes...
My connection drops on average about 15mins, with torrent, skype, and msn running. it's really annoying to have to troubleshoot every 15-20mins!!.. anyone found a solution to this??
What ethernet card you have, what router model, firmware and the rest of the obvious network information and anything else pertinent about this issue, the more detail the better
mod may want to merge this thread with about 2 others, just from today alone, and probably a few more could be found just from the past week. Am wondering if this is really a big issue or is it all user/system/network specific.

Ableton Live Works fine
Ableton Live is music/DJ production use for Mac OS and Windows. .I'm not sure how many people use this software.
I have fully tested it in windown 7.It works fine.With my midi USB controller, I mixed a full set in it
Every day I use it, and now i find it to be more stable then in vista.

Delete Undeletable Files by command line
If you want to upgrade your Windows operating system to Windows 7 and install windows 7 on another partition with windows xp/vista still on hard drive,you will get a big Issue how to Delete Undeletable Files in Windows 7.
Here are two command line syntaxes which can delete undeletable files or directories in windwos 7.
For Files:
takeown /f file_name /d y
icacls file_name /grant administrators:F
For Directories :
takeown /f directory_name /r /d y
icacls directory_name /grant administrators:F /t
Note you are the administrator or a part of administrator group to run the command.

Now with the help of windwos 7,we can burn a ISO file image without the cd burn software such as Nero.Also the Burning Tool is integrated with Explorer shell.
Burning Tool is very simply to do and it will be easier to burn Linux LiveCDs with windows 7.
1.Create a iso file by winrar or winiso.I think you should known how to do.
2.Then left click the ISO file to select the "burn disc image" in the menu.
3.A Windows disc Image burner dialog box will appear.Select the CD or DVD writer drive to use.
4.If you have verify known burning process is done properly,Check the "Burn" button to start burning.
5.When it's done,click the close button to finish.

Network Location Awareness Service
What's Network Location Awareness Service for windows 7.
Network configuration information is collected and stored by it.
You can go to Services, it lists it as Automatic (Started) as default.Right click on it to disable this service,some services depend on it will fail to start.
