Delete a Partition in Windows 7

How to Delete a Partition in Windows 7:

Logging in Windows 7 as an Administrator --> Right click on the Computer icon on the Desktop --> Select Manage option --> In the left pane of the Computer Management window, click to expand:

Computer Management (Local)\Storage\Disk Management folder

Right click on the Partition or Volume Which need to delete --> select "Delete Volume" option --> Click Yes to delete the Partition to confirm.

Then the Partition will now be deleted --> Restart your computer.

Delete hiberfil.sys in windows 7

How to enable or disable Hibernate Option in windows 7:

Click on start button and open Command prompt.
To enable Hibernate in the command prompt, just type this command

powercfg -h on

and press Enter.

To disable or Delete the Hibernation File which is called hiberfil.sys, type

powercfg -h off

in the command promptand press Enter.

Close the command prompt. If enable, set your Power Plan settings for Hibernate.

Local Network fails With Unidentified Network

If you login in Windows 7 and find that Windows have no network connection with A "Unidentified Network", it is caused by the Bonjour DNS Responder Service.

How to fix the error:
Click the start button --> Type services.msc in the search box and hit press --> in the services list, find out

Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762

Right Click it --> Select Properties select Disabled from the startup type --> Click STOP --> Click Apply --> Reboot your computer.

Now your network adapter comes up again.

Show Empty Removable Drives in Windows 7

Change Windows 7 DNS Addressing

In the Windows 7, click the Start button -->the Control Panel --> Network and Internet --> Network and Sharing Center --> On the left hand panel, Click the "Change adapter settings " link --> You will see a list of adapters present on your computer --> Double-click the Local Area Connection --> Select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on properties button --> Check the change the Obtain DNS and fill the DNS server boxes. You can use the following OpenDNS ip:

Typing 208.67.222.222 in the Preferred DNS server boxes.
Typing 208.67.220.220 in the Alternate DNS server boxes.

Then click OK button to apply.

Install Windows XP Mode in Windows 7

If your computer runs Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional, or Windows 7 Ultimate users, you can install Windows XP Mode.

First, go to the Windows XP Mode download page. Find out 'Step 1 - Select the appropriate installation'. Then select your system type and Xp Mode language. To finish it by clicking on the 'Download Windows XP Mode' button.
Notes: The setup file has approximately 460 MB.

When pop-up the setup file of Windows XP Mode window, click "Save File". Waiting for a mimute, you can start to install Windows XP Mode.

Use Windows 7 Mobility Center

The Windows 7 Mobility Center exe file is located at C:\Windows\System32\mblctr.exe. And it is only available on laptops and tablet PCs. Also it can be enabled on desktop computers.

How to open Windows 7 Mobility Center:

Click start button, select the Control Panel in All Items view. And click on the Windows Mobility Center icon. Double-click it to open Windows 7 Mobility Center and adjust the settings per tile to what you like.

Check For Memory Problem In Windows 7

How to Run the Memory Diagnostics Tool in Windows 7:

1. Click the Start button in Windows 7 --> the Control Panel (All Items View) --> the Administrative Tools icon --> Memory Diagnostics Tool.
2. The "windows Memory Diagnostics Tool" window will pop up, select the Restart now and check for problems option.
3. The computer will now restart, and windows will start to check for memory problem. This might take several minutes. By default Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool will run the Standard test.
4. When the test is finished running, the computer will be automatically restarted.

Change the Desktop Background in Windows 7

First you should know the default Windows 7 wallpaper images are located at C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper.

1. On a empty space you right click on the desktop and select Personalize on the menu.

Increase Aero Peek Desktop Preview Mouse Hover Delay

You can use the registry hack discussed to adjust Aero Peek Desktop Preview Mouse Hover Delay in Windows 7. It's also easily to do.

1 Click the Start menu, and type Regedit.exe in the run box and press ENTER.
2. Navigate to the location as:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced

3. Create a new DWORD 32bit value and name it as PreviewHoverTime
4. Then double-click PreviewHoverTime and click Decimal toedit the value. I type 3000 in the value data box. 3000 value means that you increase the hover delay to 3 seconds.
5.Close the Registry Editor and logoff.
6.After you login back, you can delay it further more to avoid accidental preview of the desktop in windows 7 now.

move user data folder to other partition

1.First you should enable administrator account in windows 7, Then login with administrator account
2.Now Start to move your user data folder to a non-system partition such as D:\userdata. You Relocate your user data to other non-system partion,for example from C:\users\w7 to D:\userdata.
3.Create a symbolic link by mklink command:
mklink /D C:\Users\J D:\users\J
4.Logoff and login your own accout. Now your physical user data is on drive D.

sticky notes Application miss

If Sticky Note Application is missing in windows 7, Please try this:

1.Make sure that Tablet PC Components checked in Windows Features.

2.Where is Sticky Note Application? It should be located at C:\Windows\system32\StikyNot.exe by default.

Recheck the C:\Windows\System32 folder. You will see some of the sub-folders in this location. If you scroll further down, you will see StikyNot file in a long list of files.

Now you can make a new shortcut for Sticky Note on the dektop.
