External HDD not working

I had connected an external hard drive to my computer, but it stopped working in Windows 7. Then suddenly it started working and my dvd drive stopped. Now External HDD not working again! my dvd is working but my HDD isn't. It doesn't come up in device manager.
I don't know how to fix it.

Windows 7 taskbar and Icons missing

I have installed Windows 7 . After noe days the launch icons of Internet explorer, Media Player and Explorer are missing,It is a empty taskbar.
Anyone help me?

You can reinstall windows 7 or restore it to a previous state. It can fix the problem.

Delete windows.old folder by Disk Cleanup

I've upgraded to windows 7 RC from the beta . And I found that a windows.old folder created.
Inside the folder i was able to delete all the files, but I am not able to delete the windows.old folder.It get a message "You require permission from administrators to make changes to this file".

But I'm an administrator and had all possible rights and ownership of the folder.How can I delete this folder?

You can use Disk Cleanup . The Disk Cleanup exe file is located at C:WindowsSystem32cleanmgr.exe.
You can check the Files discarded by Windows upgrade option to remove the Windows.old folder.

install Canon MP780 driver

I have tried running the Canon MP780 driver installer as Admin, without UAC, and in compatibility mode, But my Canon MP780 can not install correctly on Windows 7 x64.

Solved my Canon MP780 Printer problem.......You try another USB port! Plugged the printer and the driver files downloaded from the internet and all was well.

I found that windows 7 had already installed a mp780fax driver

1. Choose " add a local printer" then in "use an existing port" drop down menu, choose one of your "virtual USB ports".

2. Click windows update and wait.

I guarantee their is a canon MP780 printer driver

Office 2007 save as pdf fails

Every time I try to save a document as pdf in Windows 7, Office 2007 fails .It says " Failed to export file to pdf due to unknown error." I have the latest updates for Office 2007 SP2 and tried setting permissions, saving to different folders. how can i do?

Helo, It turns out it was Kaspersky antivirus beta. When I disabled Kaspersky, it worked fine.
But I have yet to find out how to make it work without disabling Kaspersky.

Find the Hidden Themes in Windows 7

In windows 7,there are hidden international themes stored in a super-hidden folder.But how to Access the Hidden Themes?

1.open the following address in Windows Explorer:
%WinDir%\Globalization\MCT
2.you will find such as MCT-AU, MCT-CA, MCT-GB, MCT-US, MCT-ZA file under the MCT folder.
3.Now you can add them to the Windows Themes list in the Personalize applet.Enjoy youself!

cod4 get punkbuster errors

I installed cod4, single player works fine, however playing multiplayer, punkbuster gives me 'unknown api function 131134' .I also installed cod5 and i get no errors from punkbuster!! (strange)
Anybody else getting punkbuster errors with cod4 or a possible fix??

NOw I installed COD5 and it works without problems.

Looking at the console when connecting, on cod5 it uses the path:-

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\WAW\pb

COD4 uses:-

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\pb

Tried alot of things to get this to work but i'am running out of ideas,
I will test some more and update if i find a fix!!

install mysql Error on windows 7 x64

I installed mysql on my windows 7 x64 bit.
After completing the installation,I configure mysql.when I get to the part when I need to execute I recieve the following error: cannot create windows service for mysql error 0
I don't know mysql is support for windows 7 yet. Can you help me.

After installing mysql,you need to run the file "MySQLInstanceConfig.exe" as administrator. run configure wizard as administrator
MySQLInstanceConfig.exe file usually locate at "..MySQLMySQL Server 5.1bin".

SM bus controller as device manager?

My computer works perfectly.In my device manager I have found SM bus controller under system devices .it has a yellow exclaimation mark next to it.It alters "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"?

Should I download some drivers for this or will it work without them?
My PC is an Intel Dell if that helps.

Windows 7 should be able to handle most Intel chipsets out of the box. You should Downloadthe intel drivers now and it will install them.
